A battery is utilized for the electric current, or energy, required operate the device. The nickel metal hydrate battery stores electric charge through a chemical reaction when current is conducted through the electrodes. The ability of the battery to carry charge diminishes as matter decays (i.e. half-life) through its normal use and lifetime. The guide will demonstrate how to replace an Acer Aspire 5534-1096 battery.

On the bottom side of the laptop, you will unlock the safety lock by sliding it towards the left.

Now, you'll hold this latch to the left. Everything is unlatched. The battery should feel free.

While continuing to hold the latch in the open position, use your other hand to push the battery away from the device to remove it.
