Take your Kindle DX and flip it to see the back. Use the opening tool from the ifixit toolkit and push it against the top part of the Kindle DX.

Once the small piece is removed locate the 2 small screws on each corner. Each screw is 40mm long and a Philips screwdriver from the kit with the size PH 0 fits perfectly to remove the screws.

Remove the two screws which are 30mm long and are holding the battery with the device. Use the PH00 Philips screwdriver provided in the toolkit.

Use the PH000 Philips screwdriver to unscrew the 30 mm screws as shown in the pictures.

Use the Precision Tweezer Set from iFixit kit to remove the button from the side function keys.
