Einleitung

This guide will show how to open the laptop and remove the keyboard panel from the device. Note that this guide does not provide assistance to defective individual keys. The keyboard panel includes every key, the trackpad and the associated wires.

  1. Power the laptop off and make sure the charger is unplugged before starting. Remove the eight 8.0mm Phillips #0 screws on the bottom of the laptop.

    • Remove the three 6.0mm Phillips #0 screws.

  2. Use the plastic opening tool to separate the back panel from the rest of the laptop.

    • Pry along all four sides and corners.

    • Slowly separate the back panel from the keyboard panel.

    • Do not completely remove the back panel. It is still connected to the keyboard panel by a pair of ribbon cables.

  4. The wide ribbon cable connects the keyboard to the motherboard.

    • Disconnect the wide ribbon cable by sliding it out of the motherboard input. Pull the cable toward the battery to dislodge.

  5. The narrow ribbon cable connects the trackpad to the motherboard.

    • Disconnect the narrow ribbon cable by sliding it out of the motherboard input. Pull the cable toward the battery to dislodge.

  6. Remove the keyboard from the laptop.
    • Remove the keyboard from the laptop.

Abschluss

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
