Failing M.2 SSD can result in your Asus TUF Gaming FX705G slow boot up or missing or corrupt data. If the M.2 SSD is corrupt, the computer may also crash frequently or display error messages. If any of this occurs, it is time to replace the M.2 SSD.

Use the iFixit opening tool to lift the back cover's seam, then insert the spudger parallel to the back cover and lift gently upward.

Disconnect the wire from the motherboard, and lift the battery from its housing.

Gently lift the screw side of the SSD to approximately a 45 degree angle and pull away from slot to remove it from the laptop.
