Einleitung
Dein Zeppelin Air muss konfiguriert sein und via AirPlay funktionieren. Wenn der iPod-Dock ausgebaut ist, hat der Zeppelin keine Statusanzeige mehr.
Eventuell kann die Garantie verfallen.
Was du brauchst

Lege den Zeppelin mit der Unterseite nach oben. Die mitgelieferte Verpackung eignet sich gut dafür.

Die Gummiauflage ist am Boden festgeklebt. Ziehe sie langsam von einer Seite her ab und entferne sie.

Entferne die sechs Schrauben, mit denen der iPod-Dock am Zeppelin befestigt ist.

Hebe den iPod-Dock ab.

Trenne den Stecker ganz vorne ab.

Eventuell musst du mit einem geeigneten flachen Werkzeug an der Lasche drücken.

Trenne auch den anderen Stecker ab, wahrscheinlich kannst du ihn gerade herausziehen.

Entferne den iPod-Dock.

Suche etwas, mit dem du die Öffnung abdecken kannst. Hier wurde ein Deckel einer Eisverpackung verwendet.

Schließe die Öffnung mit Klebeband, damit kein Staub ins Innere des Zeppelin gelangt. Am besten ist schwarzes Klebeband, aber es ist fast garnicht zu sehen.

Bringe die Gummiauflage am Boden wieder an. Orientiere dich an den Schraubenlöchern für die Wandmontage.

Achte darauf, dass der Kleber am Klebeband haftet, sonst könnte Staub ins Gerät eindringen.

Dein Zeppelin ist jetzt noch besser, freue dich daran. Bewahre den iPod-Dock an einem sicheren Platz auf.

Caution Loud volume is distorted. I tried this with hard plastic and when bass notes were at 1/2 or louder volume there was a loud rattling sound. Tried again with a cut up black sock taped and cut in place, still distorted but barely at normal volumes. Good thing nothing is permanent as going back it sounds fine. Test a song with punchy bass loud before and after, I used Too Late by Ariane Moffatt and Counting by Autre Ne Veut. I wouldn't have noticed with the black fabric if I wouldn't have been listening for it. Probably not meant to be a semi-open speaker. B&W could have saved me some time and stated the reason why, not just the 'void warranty' I read everywhere that has ended anyway.

As an appendix to this, you can also pull the dock arm apart, remove the wires, remove the dock connector and retain the led wire, put the LED wire inside the base, cut the dock arm at the base and then screw it back together. Fill in the cable holes with hot glue, and then reattach the base and you get a dock-less zeppelin with a glowing hole in the base with the ability to blast it at full volume with no distortion!
15 mins with a screwdriver and a hot glue gun and a hobby saw.
