    • Make sure the the engine is off and the spark plug wire is removed and away from the spark plug before beginning.

    • The oil tank cap is on the top right of the engine.

    • Remove the cap by turning it a quarter turn to the left and lifting up.

    • The cap will be attached to a long metal stick.

    • Before continuing, take note of your current oil level by following these steps.

    • The metal rod attached to the cap is the dip stick and is used to test the oil level in your mower.

    • Wipe any oil off the tip of the stick and reinsert it into the mower. Make sure to tighten the cap down when doing so.

    • Remove the cap and stick once again and note the height of the oil left on the bottom of the stick.

    • If the oil is in between the two small holes, looks clean, and you haven't experienced any mechanical difficulties, your mower's oil is in good shape and does not need replacement.

    • Check to make sure there is no fuel in the tank before removing the oil.

    • To remove the oil, tilt the mower on its side and pour the old oil into a proper container.

    • Alternatively, you can use a siphon/pump down the opening to remove the oil.

    • Never pour engine oil down the sink. Put it in a sealed container and take it to a proper oil recycling or waste disposal facility.

    • If using the tilt and pour method, ensure there is no fuel in the tank, as it may leak out.

    • Once all the oil is drained from your mower, tilt everything right-side-up and refill the engine with oil by pouring directly into the hole.

    • Insert the cap back onto the hole and tighten to close.

    • It can be helpful to use a funnel to ensure that the oil does not spill over the outside of your engine. Spilled oil can be difficult to clean up.

how much oil is recommended for this engine?

Will Irvin - Antwort

this guide is wrong. to change oil you have a bolt bottom, never empty oil on that method.

Juan Pablo Vincenti - Antwort

@Juan Pablo Vincenti this Motor has no bolt at the bottom I think. I have it on my mower and did not find any bolt there where it usually is (and also is at the older Briggs and Stratton motors I used in the past). So I guess you have to do it this way...

Johnny - Antwort

What is the oil capacity of this engine, and what grade of oil is recommended ?

Howard Quinby - Antwort

Thus engine is on a 22 ton log splitter and there is no way of tipping engine over to change oil.
