Empty the filter and remove the top.
Firmly grip the old filter and pull it out.

Thoroughly wash the dispenser with soap and water.
Never wash your Brita in a dishwasher; avoid harsh chemicals when cleaning it.

Hold the filter under cold running water for 15-20 seconds to activate it.
Do not rinse the filter with warm or hot water as it may damage it.

Insert the filter into the dispenser reservoir; push it in firmly until it is secure with a tight seal.
