If your door weather strip is damaged and needs replacement, this guide is for you. Door weather strips are an essential addition to your door to keep the elements out and help save money on your energy bill. Weather strips work on sealing your door and not letting the outside temperature affect your home. No need to hassle your landlord or get expert help to fix it.
You will need to acquire a similar door strip to the one damaged. After acquiring it, you can remove the old one using a hammer or drill depending on nail type used. Older models use nails while new models will have screw nails to install. An aluminum/vinyl 3/4 in. x 7 ft. door strip is used in the guide. The hardest part is placing the door strip in a location where it will not stop the door from closing and be able to seal the door after it closes. A marker will be used to get the right placement for the door strip.
