Einleitung
Wenn deine Maschine bei kleinster Einstellung zu schnell läuft, so dass Mehl aus der Schüssel herauskommt, dann solltest du die Minimaldrehzahl einstellen. Dies wird hier gezeigt.
Der Motor neigt im Lauf der Zeit dazu, immer schneller zu werden. Bei niedrigster Stufe sollte er 60 UpM haben, sich also ein Mal pro Sekunde drehen.
Was du brauchst

Ziehe den Stecker aus der Steckdose und stelle die Maschine kopfüber auf einen Arbeitsplatz, so dass alle Krümel und Mehlstaub herausfallen.

Stecke einen langen und dünnen Flachschraubendreher (Sicherheitshinweis: mit isoliertem Handgriff) in eine der Öffnungen im Kunststoffdeckel über dem Motor. Finde eine der beiden Schlitzschrauben, mit denen sich der Fliehkraftregler einstellen lässt.

Drehe beide Schrauben eine Viertel Umdrehung im Uhrzeigersinn. Drehe die Maschine dann wieder um und lasse sie auf niedrigster Stufe laufen.

Halte deine Hand leicht an den Mixeransatz, so dass deine Finger den Stift beim Drehen fühlen können, beobachte dabei den Sekundenzeiger einer Uhr.

Du solltest in einer Minute 60 Umdrehungen zählen können, bei dieser Geschwindigkeit läuft die Maschine etwas ungleichmäßig.

Wenn du etwas Brandgeruch in der Nase hast, kommt das vom Widerstand, das ist aber nicht schlimm. Der Geruch kommt vom Mehl, der sich im Lauf der Zeit auf dem Widerstand abgelagert hat.

Wenn der Motor sich immer noch auf der niedrigsten Stufe schneller als mit 60 UpM läuft, dann drehe die Maschine wieder um, drehe die beiden Schrauben etwas weiter. Verstelle sie gleichmäßig auf beiden Seiten, so dass der Fliehkraftregler ausbalanciert bleibt.

Regle so lange nach, bis du 60 UpM erreicht hast. Ignoriere den Brandgeruch vom Mehlstaub auf dem Widerstand.

Purchased a 701a with original user manual, Liquidiser, Veg Shredder with all the shredding blades, Juicer and Mincer yesterday from a local Charity shop all for a measly £25.....Cleaned it all and adjusted the speed as per above, all to a very good used condition. Bargain of the year.
I recently bought an A701a. When mixing dough on setting two, it violently moves around on the bench. Is this normal?
Don’t mix on speed 2 - it’s too fast. You are trying to stretch the dough, not tear it. It may be that your dough is too dry and solid so that it won’t give when the dough hook tries to stretch it. I am assuming that you do have a dough hook and are not trying to mix dough with the K beater. If not - get one - solve your problem at a stroke. Happy Baking!
Also worked for my A902 which I replaced the capacitors on but could not see how moving the control board up and down on the sprung screws could adjust the speed or how to set it. Well I still can’t see how that up/down adjustment works but it does! Thanks very much!

My understanding of the A701 is as follows. The rotating contacts form a centrifugal switch and the faster it rotates the flatter the assembly, i.e. it is spring loaded to make contact but on rotation flattens out to disconnect and break the circuit. Hence by undoing the two screws you are moving the contact point further from the assembly allowing it to disconnect sooner.
Perhaps the A902 has a different circuit I really don’t know. I only know the principle of operation and how to adjust it.
Got it down to 68 before it was really cronky. Cheers thanks for that. I had soldered a new set of components a couple of years back and was upset that it was going so much faster. It was fringing stuff out of the liquidiser! Now it runs sweet! Thanks,
I have done this till screws were right in but mixer still to fast, what next?
I messed up and adjusted one screw more than the other. I tried to guesstimate and balance it but obviously it won’t be as accurate. Is there a way to balance it again? It’s currently set at 60RPM but makes an occasional clicking noise ~ every 2 rotations near the motor (though it is pretty old and lots of things are ‘near the motor’). It’s not smoking or sparking. I know i was careless with the screws. I messed up.
I own a KM230. I have changed the 150nf and 100nf capacitors as well as the 56-ohm resistor. The motor runs at the max speed all the time now. I tried screwing the 2 screws clockwise but it doesn’t help. I screwed it in so much that a power cable was damaged by the motor. I might be connecting the ground wire to the wrong screw. I have no idea which screw the grounding wire should be connected to. Any ideas?
I don't know this device, maybe the adjustment is similar to the 901, described here. Look for step 11, second picture. Make sure that the pin on the support of the circuit board is engaged in the guide rail on the knob (marked by the red rectangle in the second picture). If you turn the knob, the circuit board needs to be able to move up and down a bit, otherwise the machine will not work! Learn in step 12 how to adjust the speed.

60rpm seems too fast as a minimum speed. When I set my kenwood A901 up like that it hit the max speed at around 4-5 on the dial.
I found 30rpm much better, when set to the slower minimum I had a smooth progression across the entire 1-8 range of the speed dial.
Well, it´s what Kenwood says in the A701 Service Manual, on page six. 60 RpM +/- 5 RpM. I think the A901 needs the same frequency. But it´s no problem, if it is good for your machine.

Hello
I have just replaced my planet gear as the nylon one snapped ( too much dough, not enough water!). Thought the machine runs faster than 60rpm as well. Looking at this site your solution sounds just right but I cannot seeem to locate the screws. Is the entry point through the casing in between the bowl area and gear hub area or do you turn the mixer completely upside down?
Or alternatively, is there any chance you can post a photo?
