Release the battery by pulling the battery tab to the left.

With a Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew the three screws marked with the keyboard icon.

Turn the laptop over and open the cover.

Push down the little clips located between the Function Keys to release the top of the keyboard. Lift the keyboard gently with a forward and upward motion.

Rest the keyboard over the touch pad.

Using a spudger or flat-head screwdriver, pull up the tabs at the black ribbon cable's sides to unlock the cable.

The top of the keyboard has locking tabs that need to be pulled back towards the keyboard center or it won't come out. They hold the replacement keyboard in place long enough to get the screws into it.
But you don’t need to remove the battery.
