You will need the proper size Phillips head screw driver to remove the screws securing the heat sink. You will also need to remove the CPU fan before you start to remove the heat sink.

There are 12 phillips head screws which need to be unscrewed before removing the backplate of the laptop.

Finally, use both hands to lift up and take off the back plate of the computer.

The fan is located here. You will need to remove three screws in order to lift the fan out from the motherboard.

You will need a Phillips 00 size screwdriver to remove the screws.

Use your screwdriver to remove the three screws connecting the fan to the motherboard.

Grab the fan power connector by the wires and pull directly away from port until the cable is disconnected.

Prepare to remove the heatsink by removing the four screws that connect it to the motherboard.

Make sure you have a Philips 00 size screwdriver to remove the screws.

Lift up the heat sink by the strip of metal connecting it to the exhaust vent, and pull it away from the motherboard.
