This is a step by step repair guide demonstrating how to replace the Wi-Fi (or WLAN) card in the HP Pavilion 14-n018us. WLAN stands for Wireless Local Area Network, so this card is responsible for connecting your device to a local wireless network. If your device is having trouble making or maintaining a good wireless connection to the internet or other devices in the network, it may be due to a faulty Wi-Fi card. Before replacing, be sure to check that other devices are able to connect with your network to rule out any issues with your modem, router, or internet service provider.

Unscrew the two 7mm captive screws on the back panel using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Remove the black cover.

Disconnect the black and white wires from the Wi-Fi card.

Slide the Wi-Fi card out from its slot on the motherboard.
