HP Pavilion 17-f004dx Individual Keyboard Key Replacement

Please follow this guide only if you are having trouble with a few keys. If numerous keys aren't working, you may have to replace the entire keyboard.

    • Carefully remove the key by prying at least two sides up with the plastic removal tool.

    • There are two square, black pieces under the key. A smaller piece may be stuck to the back of the key piece.

    • Remove two square black pieces from the area under the key with a pair of tweezers.

    • Remove a small square piece first.

    • Remove a larger square piece next.

    • Once the key is removed, use a clean cloth or cotton swab to remove any particles.
