Einleitung
Even though 2007-2014 Chevrolet Suburbans come with a trailer tow package, the manufacturer has neglected to connect the wire that enables the 12-volt auxiliary pin on the 7 pin connector. This technique allows tail lights and blinkers of any tow-behind trailer to be powered by the vehicle. It will also power any other appliances that may be in the trailer such as refrigerators or microwaves. This is an easy fix that may cost $75-100 for a professional to execute.

Locate the wiring harness bundle, which exits the firewall underneath the brake booster.

Identify the auxiliary wire, which is folded and taped to either the wiring harness or the fire wall.

Place the ring terminal (washer end) of the wire on the right post located at the front of the battery.

Place the 10 mm washer on the post.

Tighten the washer using a 10 mm wrench, crescent wrench, or pliers.
Y'all may want to say that it takes a m6 bolt to lock it down.
What is the left post for? It is constant hot as well, at least on my truck. Can’t seem to find anything showing which fuse feeds it.

After hooking up the wire, check to make sure the 40 amp fuse is installed for the auxiliary pin.

I scratched my head for a week trying to get this auxiliary working….after I found your information on this sight. it took less than 5 minutes to hook it up (would’ve only took 2 minutes, but I had to go back and clean the wire terminal end…then it worked!)…..and another sight on the internet wanted me to pay them 5 bucks for this same information! So, again, thank you very much!!!
Stud 1 and stud 2 are for. Trailer brakes 30A fuse, stud 2 12v Aux power 40A fuse. At least for my GM vehicle. 2009 Escalade. My model had both fuses in place but the studs not hooked up. Your model may have a fuse, no fuse, or even a dummy fuse like a dust cover in place. Also for this model all trailer lights are isolated and have their own fused.

This sends constant power to the trailer. What if I wanted to make that power switched by the ignition so when the key is off I can be confident that the trailer won't kill my truck battery? I know I can just unplug the trailer harness or pull this fuse to stop it, but That might be easy to forget to do.
Eric, did you ever get an answer to your inquiry about killing the power to the trailer when the key is in the off position?
It’s not a break booster, it is a brake booster. If you are going to be an author, you should know the meaning of the words you use.
