Has the wear and tear of weathering taken its toll on your mailbox? Maybe the head has decided it doesn't want to be cooperative anymore. This guide will help you fix the head of your mailbox and reattach it to the base! This fast fix should take no more than 30 to 45 minutes to get done and results in minimal difficulty. Be sure that the only repair needed is to reattach the head of the mailbox and the entire post isn't the issue. If so, that will call for a replacement of the whole unit. Be sure to have safety gloves by your side just in case.

Inspect the head of the mailbox to see where the detachment is located.

Measure out the wood plank to match the length and width of the mailbox head.

Use a hammer or mallet to nail this wood plank to the bottom of mailbox head. Use at least four nails for this task.

Screw the sides down for a stronger fit using at least four screws.

Hammer down the head to the post of the mailbox with at least three more nails.
