For this project, small pieces of backing fabric were placed over the deeper scratches to help the repair paste adhere and fill the damage more evenly.

Mix the paste from the assorted compounds in the mixing jar with the applicator brush to achieve the correct color matching the faux leather.
Use a color guide in the second photo to help find the right colors to mix and achieve your desired paste shade.
Using the color guide, select a primary color on the left and a secondary color at the bottom to achieve the desired middle tone.
You can adjust the tint of the color by adding small amounts of black or white. Add very small amounts at a time or it can overpower the mix.

Use a small spatula to apply the mixed paste to the damaged area and backing fabric. Smooth and thin the paste to your liking.
Be gentle. Smoothing out the paste can move the backing fabric from the damaged area.
Reapply as much paste as necessary to the damage after the previous coat fully dries.
