If your leather couch has discolored sections from the rest of it, use this guide to restore the couch to its original look and maintain a monotone exterior. This will allow you to continue using your couch for a longer period of time.
Discoloration caused by sun damage appears as muted, uneven, and dried-out patches. This is due to the sun's UV rays breaking down the leather’s natural dye and stripping its natural oils.
The guide makes use of common items that are easily found in most households. If you do not have these items, do not try to substitute them for others, as this may lead to further damage. Oil naturally hydrates the leather by restoring moisture to the fibers, but prolonged exposure to the leather may lead to odor issues.
Before beginning, make sure to leave ample time in your schedule. Step 9 in the guide must be done in precise time frames, as they are crucial to preventing further damage.
