This method (Event Viewer) is the most reliable way to confirm the issue is S2 sleep related. Administrator privileges are required.
Open up the Start menu or Start screen. Once opened, search for Event Viewer.
Open the Windows Logs section, and select System. You will find the log files to confirm a S2 issue here.
Find an entry that is related to volmgr. If you see such an entry, this is how you know the issue is S2 related.
