How to replace the heating elements in your stove oven

Was du brauchst

    • Unplug the oven from the mains before doing any work.

    • Undo the four screws securing the rear panel.

    • Lift the metal cover off and set it aside.

    • Take a clear photo of every connector and the ground lead.

    • Unplug the connectors and remove the ground wire to clear the workspace.

    • Inside the cavity, remove the two screws holding the lower element bracket.

    • From the rear, remove the two screws securing the element leads.

    • Wear protective gloves because sheet-metal edges are sharp.

    • Pull the element straight out through the rear opening.

    • Slide the new element in at an angle so it clears the internal spacers.

    • Align the bracket and loosely refit the rear screws.

    • Tighten the two inside screws, then fully tighten the rear screws.

    • Reconnect the two wires, matching the short lead to the near terminal and the long lead to the far terminal.

    • Photograph the four wires on the upper element terminals.

    • Disconnect the four wires, keeping them in order.

    • Loosen the two retaining nuts with a socket wrench.

    • Lower the element into the cavity and slide it forward to remove it through the oven opening.

    • Guide the left-hand tab of the new element through the temperature-sensor loop.

    • Fit the washer first and then the nut on each stud, then tighten both nuts.

    • Reattach the four wires in the recorded order, red first then black.

    • Wear long sleeves and gloves; the insulation fibres can irritate skin.

    • Remove the four screws securing the inner rear plate around the fan.

    • Lift the plate out to reveal the fan element.

    • From the rear, undo the two nuts holding the fan element terminals and keep the insulating washers.

    • Pull off the washers and save them for reassembly.

    • Slide the element forward by freeing its terminals, then unhook it from the front bracket to remove through the oven opening.

    • Hook the replacement element into the front bracket and pass its terminals through the rear holes.

    • Refit the insulating washers and nuts, then tighten them with the socket wrench.

    • Reconnect the fan element wires.

    • Remove the two screws on the vent cover, rotate it open, then remove two more screws to free the channel.

    • Pull the channel out of the oven.

    • Scrub the channel thoroughly with a wire brush to clear residue and restore airflow.

    • Reinstall the channel, align its mounting hole, tighten the upper screw first, then the remaining screws.

    • Reconnect all wiring and the ground lead exactly as photographed.

    • Refit the rear cover and secure it with its four screws.

    • Plug the oven back in and briefly run each heating mode to confirm every element warms.

Abschluss

Wash up after the job; oven insulation can irritate skin. When each element heats correctly and no steam leaks, your stove is ready to deliver those golden, crispy results again. Dispose of the old element responsibly.
