I would love steps to show not only pulling out the usb port, but also putting the new one in and re-assembly. Also maybe tips about things to avoid doing -- easy slip ups people make when doing it. Why replace just the usb port instead of the whole board assembly or instead of the entire bottom module? Thanks! Great pics
Anyone know how to bypass the "insert a supported module" error that comes up after changing the charging port?
Do you solve the problem? Can you help me, please?
Hello. I have the same problem like Rene . I changed the usb port and when I try to power on my smartphone it shows me the picture that said “insert a supported module” like what Rene said earlier. Please, I need help.
Your question is pretty old, but here's the late answer.
It seems only original modules were accepted.
Buy an original LG module and it shouldn't work.

Did you get rid of error ?
Would be nice to know…cmon people ! That was 1.5 yrs ago !
I just finished putting a new USB charging port in mine. It worked fine no worries. Buy parts from a actual cell phone place and you shouldn’t have any problems. No more ding please put charger in to usb 500 times a day. Thank You for this guide.
Not all parts are compatible with all phone models out there. And not all dealers are correctly advertising their parts as “working with” when they don’t work with that model. Even though charging ports are ranging from $15-$20 and impossible to know compatibility until you buy and attempt replacement.
Anyone have consistent experience with replacement parts?
I also had Rene’s problem. I purchased from iFixit.
Edit: I purchased the charging port from iFixit and my phone from AT&T.
One more edit (and this might be the problem): I have the H820, not H850.
