Minolta X-700 film cameras have a history of their film advance lever breaking. Without this feature, the camera will no longer work properly and it will just be a paperweight. This guide will provide a clear and easy way to fix this problem. Always make sure to remove the batteries to avoid any electrical problems when repairing electronics.

Using a Flathead screwdriver, remove the battery cap and then remove the battery.

Using your hands unscrew the top of the film advance lever.

Afterward, you will be able to access the lever. Remove the lever by picking it up vertically.

Using a microfiber wipe, clean the gears with gear oil.

After oiling, place a new lever and top back the camera.
