Einleitung

Learn how to assemble the open-storm GI node. This includes pairing a pressure transducer, soil moisture sensor, and matboxic depth sensor.

  1. Make sure you have the following:
    • Make sure you have the following:

    • Real-Time Water Systems Cell Board

    • PSoC USB connector

    • Maxbotix Sonar Depth Sensor

    • SM3 Soil Moisture Probe

    • Pressure Transducer.

  2. In order to use the Open-Storm Cell Board, you need to connect certain pins on the board by using jumpers.

    • Jumps are black, and connect two pins.

    • Jumpers allow users to toggle options on the board, such as power supply voltage or making it possible for the Cell Board to be programmed using PSoC software.

    • See pictures for proper orientation of jumpers on pins.

    • First screw in the wires into the ultrasonic sensor

    • Next screw in the wires into a terminal block

    • Then insert the terminal block into the board as shown

    • Pay careful attention to the pin locations on the board.

    • Soil Moisture and Pressure transducer share the same supply voltage, therefore you will need to take care to connect them at the same time.

    • Jumper wire provides power to pressure transducer.

    • Connect PSoC USB connector to board.

    • Connection is uni-directional. Take care that it is properly connected before inserting USB side into computer.
