Whether you would like to replace the directional pad because it is broken, or change the way you play, below are the necessary steps to change the directional pad.

Insert an opening tool in the gap between the rear and front case.

Pry around the perimeter until the front case releases.

Remove the front case.

Insert an opening tool under the directional pad, and gently apply pressure to pop it off.

Replace the old directional pad with the new one; press down firmly until it clicks into place.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
