Trace the knife outline onto wood.

Cut out the outline of the wood.
Cut the height of the wood to the correct measurement.

Sand the wood so that it is smooth and free of hard edges.
For the best result, sand in the direction of the grain as much as possible.

Stain and polish the wood so that it is reflects the other side of the knife.
Apply another coat after the first coat dries if you want a darker stain.
If you get the Stain and Polish on your skin, your skin might be stained for a few days. In this case, make sure you wash thoroughly; Stain and Polish is only toxic if it is ingested.

Drill four small holes that will go over the extruded parts of the knife.
You can accurately mark the positions of the holes by coloring the screw heads with sharpie then stamping them into the wood.
