On Step 3 on the top left, the screw to remove is actually the one next to the red circle not the one in the circle.

Step 3 Pic 1: The red circled screws alone are not enough! All screws at the corners must be removed, or else the bezel is still screwed onto.

This is a really great procedure. My comment is very close to the one above.

At step 10, between the first and second bullet:

Close the screen and flip the computer over.

Remove the two screws at the backside upper edges. this will free up the keyboard bezel. (Look at the screws pictured in step 3 circled in red.)

On the left, the screw to remove is a the 5 o'clock position to the red circle.

On the right, the screw to remove is at the 2 o'clock position to the red circle.

Flip the computer back over and open it up with the screen at a 90 degree angle to the keyboard (now removed)

In this position it will be much easier to remove the keyboard bezel.

Thanks again, my wife was very happy to get her computer back in working order.

This worked perfectly for a couple of my IBM Lenovo R61s. It was spot on except in step 3 you need to remove both screws by the red circles in order to the get inside bezel off, for the R61 anyway. Thanks for the great tutorial!

Excellent guide! It took me less than 1 hour to complete all the steps, and get my R61 up and running again! Thanks a lot
