    • Locate the side designation on the headband-earpiece junction.

    • The motherboard is located on the right side.

    • Remove the right side ear pad.

    • Refer to the Ear Pad Removal guide for more guidance.

    • Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four 10 mm screws holding the ear cup cover in place.

    • Use an opening tool to pry off the cover.

    • Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the four 6 mm screws holding the motherboard in place.

    • Use tweezers to remove the hot glue that covers the wires

    • Using the tweezers, grasp and slowly pull away the wires from the motherboard until they disconnect.

    • Use the iFixit opening tools to lift up on the motherboard.

    • While lifting up with the tool, grab and pull the motherboard with your free hand away from the button functions until it disconnects.

    • There may be some resistance in this step.

    • Desolder the three wires that are on the underside of the motherboard now that it is free.

    • Remove the motherboard.

    • Use a pair of tweezers to push the outer portion of the volume control button through the opening.

    • Using the tweezers, grasp the portion of the volume control button that is connected to the inside of the ear cup. Pull away until the button disconnects.

Thank you! This helped me open my pair of headphones, and I was able to fix an intermittent connection to the headphone jack (by reheating the pads).

I should add that the diffuser for the LED should be pulled off by user before trying to lift up the board, as it will not come off out of it's hole by itself and it does block the board from being lifted.
