My son's TI 84 Plus C has a rechargeable battery with a little cord attached to it which is significantly different from the AAA's shown in this Guide!

Do NOT replace the back up battery and the main batteries at the same time! If you do, you will lose all of the calculator’s memory.

This little button battery was insanely difficult to remove (and replace). It required me to deform my cheap plastic pry tool. Definitely poor design there from TI.

If the backup battery is dead and I remove it do I have to replace it before the calculator will turn on?
