If your Toshiba Satellite L755-S5244 will not hold charge, has a very short battery life, or is overheating during use or charging, it may need replacement. The battery on the Toshiba Satellite L755-S5244 usually has a lifetime of 3 to 6 years and will steadily lose its ability to hold charge over time. The Satellite L755 uses a lithium-ion battery. Replacing the battery does not require any tools, or special parts, except a replacement battery.

Turn the laptop upside-down, and face the battery toward you.

Pull out the two tabs on either side of the battery. The tab on the right will stay pulled out, and the left one must be held out.

Remove the battery and release the left tab.
