[title] Swap Batteries - The hardest step
[* black] Replaceicon_caution] Replacing the batteries with (2) AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteriesis difficult. '''The wires must be as in this picture''' - there is simply no room for them to be anywhere on the outside of the housing.
[* icon_note] Philips should have just made thisMy unit with a battery compartmentdid not fit AAA, but some pics suggest that allowssome units do fit AAA. If yours fits AAA then you can use AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. Chopping the usernipples off to replacemake the batteries. Or at least usedbatteries shorter is a spring loaded case that allows new batteries to snap in - butbad idea because the batteries are spot welded ontobattery quickly becomes useless when the wires! This makes this step quite difficultair seal is broken.

[* icon_caution] Be extremely careful not to damage the red and black wires. If you mess around too much they will break and you will have to find another way to solder them back on. Work out where they connect to now so if you do break them you have a hope of putting them back on.
[* icon_caution] Make sure to correctly align the polarity of the batteries, as noted on the housing! '''IfIf your batteries get hot all of a sudden, it is because you are shorting them or have wired them wrongly.'''wrongly.
[* black] Solder the tabs onto the batteries. You may be ableCut 5mm of heat shrink and put on wires before soldering to get away without soldering the link between the two batteries but remembertabs. Use a clamp to hold the unit when soldering. Get a good join. This unit generates serious vibration this unit generates. Soldering these batteries is difficult and if theany dodgy join is bad it will break with vibration.
[* icon_note] The wires/connectors can be held in place by pressure from the batteries (or optionally soldered)
[* icon_note] The batteries my body groom were actually flat at the negative end AND flat at the positive end. Therefore 2mm shorter than normal AAA size! This made it impossible
soon break. Red to fit the new ones. I got around this by chopping the nobs off the batteries with a pair of side cutters (a rather desperate measure that seemspositive, Black to have worked)Negative.
