Was du brauchst

  1. iLife V7S (Chuwi) Zerlegung (Behebung des Fehlers 4 x Piepen), Dreh den Staubssaugerroboter auf den Rücken: Schritt 1, Bild 1 von 1
    • Schalte den Roboter an dem Powerknopf (Kippschalter) aus.

    • Entferne den Staubbehälter.

    • Dreh den Roboter auf den Rücken.

    • Entferne die zentrale Bürste (auf dem Bild ist sie schon entfernt).

    • Entferne das Vorderrad (herausziehen). Reinige den Sensor unter dem Vorderrad (dunkler Plastiktropfen unter dem Vorderrad). Entferne den Schmutz und die Haare von dem Vorderrad. Das Rad kann noch von dem umliegenden Plastikteil entfernt werden, dazu muss das Rad herausgedrückt werden.

    • Schraube die seitliche Bürste los und nimm sie heraus (oben rechts).

    • Entferne alle Schrauben, die darunter sitzen. Die mittleren beiden haben Plastikhülsen, die ebenfalls entfernt werden müssen um den vorderen Stoßfänger zu entfernen.

    • Entferne die Akkufachschraube, die Akkuklappe (unter dem mittleren Rad auf dem Foto) und entferne den Akku, indem du sie zuerst an der speziellen Schlaufe auf der Batterie heraushebst und dann das Anschlusskabel von der Platine löst.

    • Wenn die zwei Schrauben mit den Plastikhülsen gelöst sind (größeren Löcher auf dem Foto) ziehe den vorderen Stoßfänger vorsichtig aus dem Staubsauger heraus.

    • Zieh vorsichtig an den Kabeln und löse den Anschlussstecker.

    • Entferne die obere Abdeckung.

    • Entferne die zwei Schrauben an den "Bumper-Armen" (die größeren Schrauben rechts und links von der Hauptplatine).

    • Entferne die "Bumper-Arme", aber ohne die Federn zu verlieren (Auf dem Bild ist de Hauptplatine schon entfernt, das wird im nächsten Schritt beschrieben).

    • Löse die Stecker vorne von der Hauptplatine und löse die 4 Schrauben, die die Platine befestigen.

    • Kippe die Platine auf die andere Seite, um an den Motor der zentralen Bürste heranzukommen.

    • Jetzt müsstest du das gleiche sehen, wie auf dem Bild dargestellt.

    • Zieh den Stecker der Stromzufuhr zum Motor und merke dir, wie es angeschlossen war.

    • Sobald alle anderen Teile entfernt wurden, kann der Roboter auf die Seite des Tisches oder auf die Knie gelegt werden und die Motoreinheit von der Unterseite der herausgezogen werden.

    • Nutze deine Finger um die transparente Klappe durch die Öffnung zu drücken während die Motoreinheit herausgezogen wird.

    • Wenn das Motorfach von der Einheit entfernt ist, schraube die drei weißen Schrauben von der Seite des Behälters ab, um das Hauptgetriebe und den Riemen zu öffnen. Entfernen den ganzen Staub und die Haare und schraube noch die 2 kleinen Schrauben, die den Motor befestigen, los.

    • Wenn der Motor entfernt ist, verwende eine Pinzette, eine Nadel oder etwas Ähnliches, um Haare und Staub hinter dem Motor zu entfernen. Sobald alles sauber ist, gib etwas WD40 auf das Plastikgetriebe und gib vielleicht einen Tropfen hinter das Motorzahnrad. Sprühe NICHT auf den Motor oder in den Motor. Dies kann zu einem Feuer führen!

    • Du kannst vorsichtig die Rückseite von dem Element ablösen und vom Schmutz befreien. Du kannst dazu am besten einen großen Schlitzschraubendrehen verwenden.

    • Nachdem Reinigen des Lagers kannst du etwas WD40 ans Lager geben.

    • Beim Zusammenbau kannst du den Zahnriemen sehr einfach auf die Zahnräder legen und zum Schluss die Rückplatte mit den Schrauben auflegen und die Rückseite auf die Rückplatte drücken.

    Maybe the bearing of the brush is stuck. Did you check this already? If the brush bearing is fine, is turning the motor gear easy?

    Wheb testing make sure to put dust bin inside. Mesh screen filter must be installed indise the dust bin.

    If still doesn't work try again, there must be mosre dust and hairs stuck some where, pay attention to step 5 and 6 and make sure you put the belt on the gears and it works. This belt drives the main brush.

Good luck! Just be gentle with the board and make sure to remove all hairs from behind the motor gear. Also on Step 5 pic #2 you can check the gears in the side part of the brush housing (three small screws). There is a small possibility some dust made its way there too. There is a belt inside, that could be tricky to put back in place but nothing difficult.

Also you can tune your vacuum by removing the ballast extending work time and making it easier for robot to move around. You’ll find ballast behind the brush tray close to the vacuum fan. The ballast is 5x5x0.5cm metal plate attached with double sided tape inside the vacuum. All you need to do is stick something sharp between the ballast and the side of the tray and remove the double sided tape. After the tape is loose gently pull out the ballast up with pliers. Removing ballast will make your robot ~100gm lighter that equals to a full tray of dust and hairs. Robot will run betterweeping longer on a single charge.

You need to complete the teardown COMPLETELY. The behavior of the robot shows that there are still hairs inside.

Does the main brush work? Please check whether all wires are connected correctly. Also take a look at the IR sensors underneath. It looks like your robot reacts as if it approaches the edge of the stairs or your main brush is still stuck.

I have this unit and the power wire does not disconnect from the motor. It disconnects from the board. Unfortunately I now have soldering to do when I was at near the last step because I was convinced you were correct.

The instructions are correct. Please see pictures from step #5 and step #6, you can clearly see the plug. Power wire can be safely unplugged from the motor.

The yellow motor (side brush) does not have the plugs and wires are indeed soldered, however you don’t need to remove side brush motor in this manual.

My side brush does not work anymore, motor is oké, tested it.

Wiring of the motor is oké also.

Looks like its not getting power from the print.

My ilife stoped working, and i was going back and forth with the Gearbest support center. They were les than helpfull, so i decided to google the problem and found your guide.

Im glad to say that i follow all the steps and my ilife works like a charm. somethimes it does a litlle screeching sound but i believe it was because i skipped the WD40. My bad. i will follow the guide again and apply some.

I’m sorry that your chuwi doesn’t work like expected.

Please doublecheck all the connectors to the mainboard, maybe one is not connected. If you just put the case off and leave the dust bin inside you can check if the vacuum engine works at all.

Great guide that was very easy to follow without any complications whatsoever. Followed it to the letter (including the cold beer at the end) and my robot is now taking care of cleaning our home while I’m writing this.

While I do understand why these things aren’t covered by the user manual (and not many people feel comfortable taking things apart) I have to wonder what everyone else do when faced with these problems? That’s a lot of money going into service…

I replaced my brush motor with one from aliexpress “Mini 385 DC 12V Motor 14500rpm Shaft Diameter 2.3mm Front Ball Bearing Powerful Micro Motor With Wear-Resistant Carbon Brush”. The brush is now faster and I think louder then before. I had to use some spare screws because the original ones are to small. I’m still looking for another motor, but it seems that there is no other motor with a bearing and 2.3mm shaft.

Same here. I have changed from original motor to new 12V 13000 rpm Strong Magnetic Large Torque 390 motor Drill motor because of original was broken and stucking.

Motor works, brush roles, but unfortunately just a second, then backwards, then stops, and blinks red.

I think i soldered wrong or something wrong with motor control board?? ilife doesn’t work with main brush motor enabled. So now disconnected, using only Wet cleaning. Does anyone has ideas of problem? Can someone provide screens how it should be connected (Made mistake of not taking pictures before dissamble)

@dkvadratu Did you solve your wiring? Did you test the motor just connected to the mainboard without complete installation with the brush? I think if you did the wiring wrong the motor should turn the wrong way around, maybe that is the issue?

thanks for help man! Maybe a little bit more detiled photos. After asembling all it still had the issue. But we noticed that when we took it upside down the rolling main brush did not roll. We helped it manually and it started to work!

Thanks for this, it helped me assemble my vacuum back, but now for some reaosn when i turn it on it keeps going backwards and accelerating. like trying to escape from being stuck, my guess is that something is wrong with the sensor or front bumper… but i can’t tell because it looks fine when i disassemble it again…

I did exactly these steps,cleaned all the ensors and put it together.

After switching it on,do exactly the same thing as before.

Nach Zusammenbau funktioniert die Bürste noch immer nicht, außerdem fährt der Roboter jetzt rückwärts. Nach kurzem Rückwährtsfahren und Hüpfen kommt der Fehleralarm. Was kann ich jetzt noch tun???

Teste einmal ob der Motor überhaupt noch funktioniert. Also Motor ausbauen und an wieder an die Platine anschließen. Den Roboter wieder soweit zusammenbauen, dass er startet und schauen ob der Motor sich dreht. Du brauchst den Roboter nicht wieder mit dem Cover zu versehen, aber du musst den Staubbehälter einsetzen, damit er startet.

Halte uns auf dem Laufenden.

Hi and thank you for such detailed tutorial.

I believe my problem is a bit different, however. My robot does not beep - it continues to run but the brush does not rotate. I tried to understand why and it seems it stops rotating only when the brush is in place or after applying some pressure in the rotating holder.

I just found this tutorial, but I did open it up before and cleaned everything. Should I also try to check the motor? The strange part is that it does not beep…it keeps on running, but doesn't clean as the brush is not rotating. I checked the brush, cleaned the bearing and even applied some wd40. Same thing happens. Could this be a motor problem as well, or simply replacing the brush would be enough?

Any ideas?

Hey pedrodiogoum,

I think you can easily check if your motor is faulty. Just open the robot up again, put out the motor and leave it wired to the mainboard. Then put the robot back together so all wires are connected and start the robot. The motor should start turning. If it does not your motor needs to be replaced. Some time ago I posted where you cen get a replacement motor that is not as good as the original one but it is cheap and does the job.

So, I did open the robot, thoroughly cleaned everything (all possible bearings), applied wd40 and it still is malfunctioning.

I did not, however, tried your method of having the motor out of its normal housing and then having the robot working to check if the motor was working properly. However, I did check the robot working without the brush and it works fine - no beeping and it seems the motor is always working as the plastic bit that makes the brush rotate works non-stop all the time. It just stops once the brush is in place (stops rotating after 30s…)

I am writing you now this feedback as I just got a brush replacement (the other had the bearings in not so good shape, so I figured that was the problem), but it is all the same. At this point, I don’t see what else I can do. Could it really be a motor thing? Do you have other ideas? Don’t want to buy another one as this feels like something I can solve without spending too much $…

Hey Pedro,

without a broken motor I can only think of the possibility that the space for the brush is too small. That can happen, when the gear from step 6 is not completely in it’s original position. I usually put the belt on the motor gear and hold the belt in a position that the gear for brush fits in the hole, then before rescrewing the back plate of the gearing room press the side where the brush get’s in place later and the back plate of the gearing room very tight together (with my fingers) and rescrew the back plate, but not too tight. I test it by putting the brush in place and I should be able to turn the brush easily. If the brush is stuck in it’s position the motor cannot move it and you get your 4 beeps.

Hey Pedro,

the gear ot the motor should not move in sideways. Mine did the same and made horrible noises. I think the motor is the problem. High quality motors have a bearing for that. Sometime earlier I explained which kind of motor I bought for replacement:

Does the gearing turns when the brush is not in place?

Maybe the brush sits too tight. When you put the ilife back together, make sure you press the part, where the brush sits in, to the side of tbe robit, that the brush has enough space to be turn by the gearing. You can do that step without disassambling the robot.

Moinsen,

vielleicht ist es der Klassiker: Staubcontainer nicht eingesetzt.

Falls dieser schon drin ist könnte es der Sensor dazu sein. Als Test könntest du dann einfach die Kabel der “Containersensoren” vom Mainboard lösen. Genau weiß ich nicht wo die angeschlossen sind, aber man kann ganz gut dem Kabelverlauf folgen (vll ist es auch nur ein Sensor).

erstmal danke für die schnelle Reaktion. Der Container ist drin. Kabel dazu auch angeschlossen. Habe auch eben nochmal geschaut, passt eigentlich soweit.

Hast du das Video mal angeschaut? Wäre voll gut, wenn wir da gemeinsam ne Lösung fänden. Würde unsere “Pinkie” gern wieder in Betrieb nehmen können. Der Dreck ist entfernt - war auch echt nicht grad wenig.

Fehler gefunden! Das ist meist am mühsamsten. Ich würde es zunächst provisorisch reparieren, was dann zur Dauerlösung wird. ;-]

Achte eigentlich nur darauf, dass das abisolierte Kabel keinen Kontakt zu den anderen Anschlüssen hat.

Tüdel das rausgezogene Kabel mal etwas von den anderen los und isoliere das Ende soweit ab, dass du das abisolierte Ende durch das Loch am Plastikstecker durch geht und versuche dann mal den Stecker drauf zu stecken. Das abisolierte Kabel darf aber keinen Kontakt zu den anderen Steckern haben.

Falls das nicht gehen sollte, weil die Lücke mit durchgezogenem Kabel zu klein ist würde ich das abisolierte Kabel zu einer Schlaufe formen und um den entsprechenden Pin stülpen und dann noch ein paar mal verdrillen, sodass das Kabel nicht einfach zur Seite weggezogen werden kann (eventuell das restliche abisolierte Kabel mit Isolierband [zur Not Tesafilm] sichern). Dann einfach den Stecker drauf schieben, der Müsste das Kabel an korrektwr Position halten.

Ich würde es aber wahrscheinlich einfach für Immer provisorisch lösen.

Leider ist das Kabel direkt am Stecker abgebrochen und da ist ja auch noch ne Klammer im Stecker. Echt doof. Neuer Stecker ist bestellt und kommt hoffentlich bald.

попробуйте все сначала, скорей всего остались волосы на шестеренка моторчика (шаг 5) или под шестерней в чёрном коробке сбоку от трея для щётки. ещё вариант что ремень внутри коробки не встал на шестерни.

For everyone experiencing issues with the main brush after following the guide. Please make sure to pop the gear off (step 6) and remove all dust and hairs from underneath the gear. Next thing is some hair stuck behing the metal gear on the motor. (step 5) there is a possibility of dirt going quite deep inside. Be careful and pull everything out.

Once everything is cleaned and before re-asembling the robot put the motor back in tray and assemble the gearbox. It is very important to make sure the belt inside gets fitted poperly. You need to stretch it in between the gears and close the lid. Once done, try to rotate the main brush and see if this movement is transferred to the metal motor gear. Point is to check if the belt got installed poperly and it works.

One Last thing. Try to rotate the motor gear to see if it can be rotated by fingers. I had to replace this motor once already as it was wearing out the bearing and the axle was getting stuck and it was difficult to rotated it. The motor often comes with the brush tray, it can be purchased on aliexpress.

1cm tall (thread and top part)

2.5mm diameter with thread (max diameter with thread)

7.7mm tall threaded part

6-7 grooves of thread on 7.7mm part

Also check if your screw is inside your bust bin. It might’ve been picked up by main brush and placed in the dust bin.

I’ve been cleaning my iLife v7 couple of times without result and then found your instruction how to access main motor. Gear room has incredible amount of hairs and dust, main motor gear was completeley stuck and rusty. After careful cleaning and lubrication - IT WORKS!

Very good 9/10 I had A bit trouble with the right two connecters I just guessd, the center wheel cable is the upper connecter. there was no connector on the motor it self there is one in the photo and there are probably many of this model were it is but I didn't have one maybe I have a later or newer revision sometimes they make minor changes because of cost idk and u have to make sure u clean the brush from the inside to. u can dis asemmble it further in to very small pieces with a flat head and some force I had very much dirt there or u buy a new brush

Hi guys,

I believe there was another question about what to do even if you did everything in the guide and still get 4 beeps: this likely indicates that the problem with the main brush motor persists. The small black gearbox needs to be cleaned. Make sure to PULL the large gear up to clear space underneath it. The main brush motor may also have some hair stuck between the motor and the small metal gear on it. If this still doesn't work I'd recommend trying to replace this motor. They're available on Aliexpress for like $15.

Hi, I have a similar problem but the guide didn’t work: the iLife starts cleaning normally for 1-2 minutes, then stops, turns around, the home button goes red and it beeps four times. If you start it again it beeps already after 30 seconds. The problem also exists if you let the iLife “clean” without the main brush inside, the problem doesn’t appear when the vacuum is in the “home” mode and on its way to the station. What can be the problem?

Hi Lisa, this must be the same problem and using this guide (cleaning the bot or replacing the motor) will work. 4-beeps mean that the bot cannot turn the main brush. What you are observing is likely that when the bot is fully charged, it can rotate the brush for 1-2min (with max battery charge and voltage). Once the battery power dips from 100% it can't overcome the resistance of dirt and hair stopping the brush therefore it starts reporting the error right away within 30 seconds after activating it.

Small update: I've had to replace the brush motor and the vacuum air pump previously, in case your bot is making a whining noise this means the air pump is getting worn. When you take out the main brush motor make sure to inspect and clean the gears (in a small black box on the side of the brush tray, there's a belt in this box as well) and check the motor. After years of service, the motor shaft may have worn out the hole in the motor housing rubbing metal on metal preventing the main brush from rotating.

Also, I was able to order replacement parts for this bot from the manufacturer's store: Ilife Official Store however the shipping time was quite long 1m+ but they were able to supply all parts (I suppose they carry the spare parts since they still sell the V7s Plus model that is almost identical to the V7S pro) ☺

Hi,

mine v7s plus just broke down. Main brush is not rotating. It rotates for few seconds and then stops, robot will still go around, but its not able to pick up dust. I teared it and cleaned everything, but still no result. I have a spare v7. I changed the main brush motor (it is a bit different) and then it started very strange behavior: it goes back a bit, then turns and again goes back. Sometimes it stars beeping. When I unplug main brush motor. Robot works without any errors. Finally i took spare motor and soldered it to v7s plus PCB, so strange behavior wont start. But still after few seconds motor stops to spin. Any ideas what can go wrong? I can't understand how a connected motor can cause strange behavior (maybe it draws too much power?). I red that more people encountered this, but noone posted the solution. Hope this topic is still active, as I want my v7s work!

this behaviour is consistent with the bot sensing that the brush doesn't turn. Check and clean the black gear box on the side of the main brush assembly, make sure to pull the bigger gear off (gently with screwdriver between the base and the gear, it will require a bit of pressure).

If this doesn't work and gears and belt are clean and rotate freely, perhaps check fpr anything else that may cause the main brush to stop or resist rotating.

As you're at it get a magnifying glass to check the main board for rust, shorts or any signs of water.

My bot finally succumbed to water damage and replacement board was newer version that loops the charging eventually motivating me to give up V7S and get a new bot.

Beim Chuwi bin ich nicht mehr so fit. Meiner Meinung nach sind es nur vier relevante Sensoren: 1. der Absturzsensor an einer Stufe, der müsste an dem vorderen Unterboden des Chuwi sitzen. 2. Der Front-Bumper, dieser könnte "hängen". 3. Radsensor: Wenn man den Chuwi anhebt und die Räder entlastet sind. 4. Sensor, ob der Abfallbehälter eingelegt ist.

Einfach alle Punkte einmal auf Sicht prüfen und eventuell mal aktiv auslösen lassen. Gerne kurz eine Rückmeldung geben, falls sich mehr Informationen ergeben. Im zweiten Schritt nochmal die Verkabelung im Roboter prüfen, aber vielleicht irgendwo ein Kabel blank, gebrochen oder nicht angeschlossen ist.
