iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi Audio Jack Replacement

Replace the 3.5 mm audio jack (a.k.a. headphone jack) in an iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi.

Schritt 1 Audio Jack  ¶ 

Remove the two 1.8 mm Phillips screws securing the bracket covering the audio jack.

Use an opening pick to lift the bracket up from the headphone jack. Remove the bracket.

Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the Facetime camera connector from its socket on the logic board. Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the Facetime camera connector from its socket on the logic board.

  • Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the Facetime camera connector from its socket on the logic board.

Schritt 4  ¶ 

Use the flat end of a spudger to pry up the adhesive securing the Facetime camera ribbon cable to the headphone jack ribbon cable underneath. Fold up the FaceTime camera ribbon cable so that it is out of the way.

  • Use the flat end of a spudger to pry up the adhesive securing the Facetime camera ribbon cable to the headphone jack ribbon cable underneath.

Disconnect the headphone jack cable connector from its socket on the logic board. Disconnect the headphone jack cable connector from its socket on the logic board.

Schritt 6  ¶ 

Slide an opening pick under the headphone jack ribbon cable to free it from the adhesive securing it to the rear case. Remove the single 2.8 mm Phillips screw securing the headphone jack to the rear case.

Pull the headphone jack straight back out of its recess. Remove the headphone jack assembly. Remove the headphone jack assembly.
