Replace optical drive with SSD?
Is it possible to replace the optical drive of my late 2008 MacBook Pro with an SSD hard drive?
What parts should I buy?
Is there a guide available?

Hi, yes you can replace your optical drive with an SSD. From what you tell us about your MBP, this guide should be the one you need to follow.
MacBook Pro 15" Unibody (Ende 2008 und Anfang 2009) Duale Festplatte einbauen
You will need a caddy or enclosure to hold the SSD on the optical bay area. You need to double check if your MBP uses SATA or ATA to connect to the CD/DVD. To do so, check the hardware info about your MBP and look in both ATA and SATA tabs, the one that shows the CD-DVD will be the type of connector you will need to use.

You can use iFixit's or any other vendor's 9.5mm kit.
