16GB in two 8GB chips. Sure if you use one externally - there's no room no "extra" connector as in an iMac. You could replace the HD or the Optical Drive.

I just installed a 16GB kit from crucial for only 81.99 w/free shipping. It really does make a noticeable difference.

Max RAM is limited to 16GB by the CPU. If you wanted anything more than 16, you may as well buy a Desktop Workstation.
