MacBook Pro hard drive not detected?

I have a macbook pro A1150 model that does not detect hard drive at all. I have tried several good hard drives, several different cables, still same thing. ANd yes the hard drives are mac osx formatted. It seems that the cable connection gets very hot to the finger. I checked the logic board and no sign of any burns or damage.
