No Display however MacBook booting

I turned off my macbook last night with no issues. Today morning I on it and the moment I on it I plugged my IPHONE 4S for charging, I could hear the booting sound and screen flick after that black screen. Now I cannot have my screen back. Everytime I start it just flick right after boot music and goes black. If I close the macbook by default and before when I will touch mouse paid it will come back, now if I try to do that the screen does show desktop for 1 sec and goes black. I tried turning it on without iphone attached with no luck.

If you see the image of the desktop your inverter or inverter cable is bad. Here's the iFixIt page that goes over how to replace the inverter which is what I would start with. Inverter replacment

Dan thanks for the suggestion but here is something i did which fixed the problem for the time being... i was pressing keyboard key thinking it might be going to sleep and hit the brightness key and it came back on minimum brightness (just one bar) the moment i increase it even to two bar it goes back to same condition.. you still think its the inverter cable??

I would focus on the inverter Vs the inverter cable. - Your added info may now include the main logic board as also being involved here. Try resetting the SMT - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 to remove any possibility of the ambient light sensor getting in the way here.

Inverters work or they don't, they are an electronic switch with a voltage amplifier. If it works at any setting it will work at all settings. The inverter cable has 3 states: 1) Works all the time. 2) Doesn't work all the time (totally broken). 2) Works intermittently dependent of the angle of the screen at all brightness settings. The problem is most likely the CCFL bulb in the LCD, the phosphorous coating has degraded. However, it could be on the motherboard. The CCFL bulb replacement (under $5 for the new part) requires good tech skills to do the job. Replacing the entire LCD can be done for less than $70 with a new part. @ dan SMC reset didn’t help, it was the very first step I started the troubleshooting with. @ABCellars I am techy person wouldn’t mind trying changing the bulb myself (anyways max would be I need to change the screen so nothing to lose) can you post the step by step process to change the bulb please? Also just to add once it start on min brightness I can increase the brightness may be after 10 minute to max brightness with no problem. Lastly I remember I kept my TV remote control before I slept on top of macbook may that can be the reason of these issues?

I have no desire to put an answer here or I would not have provided the info I did through comment. I would have given an answer. Comments on this forum have a character limit, answers do not. I can point you to some tutorials and give you some advice based on my experience of replacing the bulb through the email address in my profile. If you live in the US I can point you where to find the bulb for about $4 (including shipping) or slightly more for other countries. I like helping out people such as yourself, not giving future competitors the information they need to be my competition.
