Is it possible to repair the flex print?

So I've got the display out of the machine and narrowed the 'transporter (beam me up Scotty)' vertical bar up the middle to the right hand flex print cable which goes from the wee pc board (no mac slur intended) to the panel. If I drag a guitar pick over that flex print (or twist the lcd assembly certain ways) I can make the transporter flaw dissapear. Under 3x power I can't see any flaws in the flex print itself and it's a little difficult to tell if it's the attachment to the wee pc board at the bottom of the assembly or the attachment inside the panel. I am of course loath to pry the panel appart, expecially since I think there's no way to re-attach the flex print with heat pressure or solder - I think they use conductive PSA to bond them - but not really sure. So the basic question is: Is it even possible? I have access to high power microscopes, a cold solder joint detecting x-ray machine, and hi-rel trained solder technicians at work, but I don't wanna bother them if it requires ulta-precision jigs and adhesive I can't get - though I might be able to get a rep to sample me some psa tape if I knew that's the stuff I need. Any body know?
