Silent switch installation tips

Is there any tips on how to reinstate the silent/vibrate switch. I have been finding it very tricky trying to keep the switch, the electronic section and the small metal cover in place while getting the screw in?

What is the small cover for, can it be omitted?

Also, if I may. I have installed the power button and its electronic section. It doesn't seem to be moving as it normally would. Does this change when the motherboard is in place?

I just did this. It was a bear.

I held the three pieces aligned and tight with tweezers.

With magnetized screwdriver, I placed the screw on the right (as seen from inside the phone) in it's hole and turned it counterclockwise until it popped into the threads.

I tightened it almost all the way but not quite.

Then using tweezers I moved the pieces until the holes on the left all aligned and after multiple tries I got the screw into that hole.

I then again loosened the screw until it popped into position and then tightened.

The left screw is positioned so that you have to tighten it from an angle.
