iPod doesn't turn on

My ipod unexpectedly turned off. I was on Youtube and i pressed the home button then pressed the on/off button. I then pressed play on my mic and i noticed nothing was playing so i pressed the home button and it wouldnt turn on. I even pressed the on/off button and it still wouldnt turn on. Its not responding at all not even when i plug in the charger.
