I have the same problem, battery won't charge anymore but it does charge in another macbook. And macbook works perfectly when i insert a full battery.
MacBook Pro 13" Core 2 Duo Model A1181
I replaced the magsafe connector and also the battery connector energy star one.
but this didn't help either
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Your on the right track here! When the battery swells it distorts the battery compartment and damages the contact block. Often I need to bent things back a bit and sometimes I need to replace the contact block.

oh and i just turned it off again and turned it upside down to get the battery out and now suddenly it's charging again :o
maybe it's a bad connection indeed
