I'm looking to replace the doc connector on my iPod classic but the part is not listed. I'm wondering if I can use a replacement connector from a different model (e.g. iPod touch).
My iPod classic is a fifth generation (and from the description it is the late model 2009 one).

Nicholas John, most likely not. At least I would not even attempt this. Issue with that is the height of the connector. The video is thicker and the distance off the board to the connector is different. Check on places like this one or this one here for a proper replacement part. I am sure there are more places out there, but those are the ones I've used before. Hope this helps, good luck.

It is replaceable with the right skills. I've been able to remove the pins com a broken iPod classic and solder tem onto the working one.
