Hi-res images; Can you see any problems with this logicboard?

I've almost lost faith trying to repair a water damaged MBP. The sellers have clearly ravaged the logic board for parts, now i need advice as to weather i'm wasting my time or not.

I have ordered the parts around the freehand yellow line (thanks to old turkey for the input: What are these missing parts on my logic board?)

all other yellow circles are damaged looking parts or components that look missing (ridge-like solder plates give them away)

I guess what i'm looking for is someone to tell me what parts look broken / missing and weather it's even worth trying to replace them..

many thanks.

I removed part "U6630" with a lighter and tweezers.

Unless I employed a tamarin to solder the part I really dont know how to do it.

are there any guides out there to replace such a small part?

(find the 9 small solder dots in the center of the image)

Matt Rowlands, no issues with identifying those missing components.Total cost I would estimate somewhere in the $30 range. A question I have to you is, are you capable of fixing this board? I do not mean that in any disrespectful way, but just wanted to know. As for is it worth it, only you can answer this. It will take some work and a bit of money, and that is what you might lose if it will not work. Would I do it? Yes, just for the challenge of it:-)

as for your update on the U6630, that is what is called a BGA and needs a different approach. It needs a reflow....

R6213 100K 5% 1/16W 402 Audio Codec regulator circuit

C3895 4.7UF 10% 50V X7R-CERM 1206

U6630 MAX98300 Mono 2W Class D Amplifier

Q9425 Si8409DB P-Channel 30 V (D-S) MOSFET BGA

Q4262 BSS8402DW COMPLIMENTARY PAIR ENHANCEMENT MODE MOSFETS SOT-363

C2901 10UF 20% 6.3V 603

C7251 150UF 20% 6.3V Poly B1A-SM

Again, most of these parts should be readily available through Mouser.co or Digikey.com. As for repairing it, remember that I believe in ifixit before ireplace it. Hope this helps, good luck.

Hi again oldturkey.

your like a magician. if your a part of the panel of this website you should suggest a paypal donation system to useful repliers. or perhaps suggest it regardless.

as for the extent of my expertise, I have two options; use silver solder paste and a heatsource (melts at 430F) to attach the components or find someone with a reflow station to do it for me. I will most likely give it a go and practice with an old board and then try it on the mbp board. its an experiment for me and it's satisfying to learn :)

are you finding the components details from schematics such as: http://www.scribd.com/doc/162854132/Appl...

or is there an easier way? I have no clue how to read those diagrams.

Thanks again for your help

No way do I want to get paid. Volunteering is more fun, getting paid is what I have a real job for :-) You can learn to solder those components, and you are going to do the right thing about practicing on an old board. As long as your solder pads are good, and you have a decent soldering iron with a fine tip, you can do it. I have never been a friend of paste unless it was to repair traces and solder pads. There are some good videos on youtube you might want to look at while you are learning.
