Why won't the battery charge?

Hello, I have a macbook pro 13" that was given to me after it was thrown down cement stairs. I replaced hard drive, hooked it up to external monitor because screen will not turn on, only get a white screen then goes black. No damage to screen at all on outside. The keyboard and trackpad will not work. Battery will not charge I need to plug in to work. It has internet, video, works great by using bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I check all wires and logic board for any damages I can detect and see none but I am a novice at this. I removed theLCD LED LVDS Cable, cleaned it but still not screen. What could be wrong with battery not charging? I did order a new lvds cable to replace.

and would like instructions on replacing this cable.

It reads current charge not available, max charge NA, Current capacity NA, Design capacity NA, It tells me the correct info on the model and age. Battery load cycles NA, TEMP. NA, Battery power usage NA. The top case is dented on the left side where all usb and slots are and is curved up. I can send you photos of case and logic board if you would like.

I added photo of macbook pro and logic board near the cable. I have more of the logic board to show you to see if you can see any damage.

First I don't think the LVDS cable is your problem with the display. Often the driver logic mounted on the back side of the LCD gets damaged when banged which I suspect is the case here. It will likely need a new screen.

The fact the keyboard and trackpad are not working sounds like it got hit quite hard to damage them. Did the bottom case get pushed in? If that is where the damage is you may have a damaged logic board and/or the connections along the edge.

As far as the battery, you will likely need to check the SMC services to see whats happening. Download this little gem coconutBattery 2.8 so you can check it out. Let us know what you see.

Dan, I do not know where to start first. How do I check if the logic board needs repair? Do I send it out? she works fine except for the screen and keyboard and battery not charging. I downloaded the coconut battery 2.8 and it is not charging. It shows nothing. Will I need to disassemble the entire screen to check the wiring? Or purchase an new screen assembly and then if the logic board has damage by the fuse to the cable? I would like to know what someone with way more experience would do first.

What do you mean coconut shows nothing? It should show you the batteries and what their charge cycle count is. If it doesn't then you have a deeper problem than the battery its self. Was (is) the bottom cover or sides dented?

This is not sounding good here ;-{ If coconut can't 'see' the battery then the SMC logic is also damaged. I suspect this is getting to the point of not being economically repairable. You need a lot of stuff and the case maybe shorting out something here as well.

If you want to post some good hires pics of the impact area externally and the logic board nearest the impact so we can see things maybe something will pop out.
