New digitizer isn't working on ipad 2

Hello,

I just recently replaced the digitizer on my ipad 2 (wifi) myself and now the touch screen isn't working. I'm wondering is it because I reconfigured it incorrectly, or if it's just a cheap digitizer? Like what can I do to fix this problem?

The screen shows fine, power/home/volume/mute buttons work just fine.

I can't send it to apple because I tried repairing it myself already, so I'm sure they'll just have me buy a new one, and I ain't about that life.

I tried all the resets, restore, etc. methods, they don't work. Is there anyone who could point me in the right direction?

Are your fpc flaps down? Also, is your ribbon cable tucked in right? Either one of these could cause a malfunction.

I agree with Kerri. What I would do first though is always wear some latex or vinyl gloves, as any oils from your fingers on gold contacts can affect the signal quality. Gloves should be worn ANYTIME a mobile device is opened up. I would say to power the device down, but seeing how you can't, then you'll just need to disconnect the battery after lifting the digitizer. After lifting up the digitizer, carefully flip up the FPC digitizer tabs to avoid breaking them off and remove the cables. Use some alcohol prep pads to wipe down the gold contacts just incase you may have touched them with you bare hands when putting the digitizer in place before. Let it air dry before inserting them back in the connectors. Insert cables all the way in and flip down on the tabs. Plug the battery back in and place the digitizer back in place, then power on. I hope this works for you or anybody else having this problem. :)
