Possible to replace or repair PS2 optical drive ribbon cable?

Hey all,

I have a Playstation 2 fat model, SCPH-30001. Recently, I was having some trouble with the optical drive not reading discs properly, with the infamous "disk read error" message constantly popping up.

I decided to open the console up to clean it out and clean the lens. Unfortunately, while I was attempting to remove the drive track, I accidentally ripped one of the ribbon cables on the drive. It isn't the flex cable, but rather, it's the ribbon cable that attaches to the board under the disc drive spindle.

I've enclosed a couple of pictures for reference.

Is it possible to use 3M conductive tape to attach the ribbon back together? Or would I need to simply replace the entire cable? If so, does anyone know what part number that is, and where I could order it from?
