Optical drive issues with DVD media

My optical drive had no issues with burning blank dvd media. It always accepted all types of DVD media. I have been using inkjet printable discs with no issue. Lately the drive has started to reject inkjet printable discs. There is no issue with non printable discs and sometimes it accepts the inkjet printable discs but now very rarely if at all.

Watching DVDs is no issue.

I am burning home video using iDVD and Toast so I don't think it is a software issue as both programs have the same result with inkjet prinatbles.

Has anyone experienced this?

Does my optical drive need to be replaced?
