While taking apart my Itouch 4g I accidentally broke the volume cable. (I was replacing a broken screen). It seems the repair of the cable is more difficult than replacement of the screen! If I go ahead and put it all back together with this cable broken, will I have any volume control at all? Are there any other problems related with this cable remaining severed? Thanks!

Your power lock button and volume buttons won't work..
You should be able to use assistive touch option to lock and control the volume
