While I had my Canon T2i on a tripod equipped with a remote shutter release, my son decided to knock over the tripod and the plug for the release remote broke off in the plug...any suggestions on how to remove it (trying not to spend hundreds of dollars taking it to the camera shop for repair)?

I'd take the battery out and have at it with teeny tiny iphone tools depending on what it looks like. The iSesamo tool is great at getting into small spaces and acting as a wedge without breaking.
