MacBook shuts off by itself, won't stay/turn on
Hi everyone,
i have a MacBook Pro 15" 2.53 ghz mid 2009 with mavericks.
For the past year or so I had the service battery icon which I ignored due to busy schedule and being mostly connected to a power line.
Yesterday it started shutting down by itself and when I try to turn it back on, seconds after the login, it shuts off. The battery lights on the side shows that it's not charging, there's only a blinking one. The MagSafe light is solid green.
Until yesterday it was fine ish, it could only last a couple of hours but was working perfectly fine.
Edit: after leaving it unplugged for a night, now it won't even turn on.
Could it be only a battery problem? Wouldn't it turn on when plugged in even if the battery is dead?
Of course it happened while I'm traveling and not home, and here there are no apple stores, I can fix it myself, but I would like to know if it could be just the battery or something more serious before opening the wallet.
Tried resetting smc and pram but nothing worked.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
