That is because it is an iPhone 4 CDMA version. Remember that the iPhone 4 came in two flavors that were completely different. The GSM version that works on ATT. And then the completely different CDMA version that for the first time working on Verizon/Sprint. The CDMA version looks a lot like the 4S. You'll notice however that you don't have a SIM card slot--this means it is a CDMA 4 and not a 4S.

it has a sim card slot and the model number says a1387
okey dokey, then your iPhone 4 screen is an iPhone 4S screen. The only outcome here is that somewhere you have a case of mistaken identity. If not the phone, then the screen. If not the screen, then the individual pieces of the screen--backlight, LCD, digitizer etc were assembled with something mislabeled.
jose ontiveros, double check you phone. Make sure that you have a 4S
