My roper washer just the last load was grinding and making a lot of noise. I've checked all that I could somewhat find online and I just don't know what it could be. I can't afford to have a repair man out for it

Do you hear the noise when you turn the drum by hand ?
Try moving it backwards, sometimes things get between drum and sealing. You might be lucky and the thing might fall out.

This is happening to my 12-year old LG washer. It sounds as if some of the bearings are worn out. The sound it’s there even if I spin the drum by hand.
From what I’ve seen online, new bearings cost close to $200, not including labor. If the entire drum needs to be replaced, add another couple hundred.
Hoping there is an easy way to grease the bearings or something, in case they were not worn out all the way.
Washer still works great, it’s just very loud.
